Media release - - -start Local Irish songwriter Mick McHugh launches his third CD "Live at The Old Drill Hall" on Friday 3rd December at the intimate acoustic setting of Federal Church. The album is a live recording capturing Mick at home in his world of intimate style of folk. Accompanied by fiddle, flute, mandolin, ukulele and harmonica, Mick plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, foot percussion and sings giving the CD a full sound for a three piece. "The album is part of vision I'm working towards to have five CD's by 2011. So whether it's a band gig, live solo, duo or trio, or with cellist or fiddle, I can offer audiences a CD that represents the show they've just seen." says Mick. The Irish troubadour has been nominated nearly twenty times in international, national and regional songwriting contests since releasing his first EP back in 2008. Three of the songs from this album have been nominated in The Music Oz Awards, a national contest for unsigned artist, in World, Instrumental and Spiritual categories."I've been following my music dream full time for only three years now, and you know, like with any job, you've got to do your time...your apprenticeship and that's how I see myself. So getting such positive feedback from industry contests so early on in my career helps heaps with keeping me believing and affirming my direction and choices." Federal Church, Friday 3rd Dec, 7pm. $5, CD $20. hot drinks and yummy cakes available.www.myspace.com/mickmchughMedia release - - -end
