I was chuffed to be asked to perform at the 2010 NCIEA Dolphin Awards last week. Maria joined me on Violin and Mandolin (though not at the same time obviously! and Kathyrn Jones sang harmonies on "Dad" (as she did on my Cd). So great to have the opportunity to perform to your peers. Dance and Sing from my Live CD was nominated for Best Folk, unfortunately didn't win. As it turned out, on the same afternoon, I received an email from the Australian Songwriters Association to say that 2 of my songs "Lost My Faith" and an instrumental "Orin" had been shortlisted in their 2010 contest
It was my second year running to be nominated in the Folk category, so there's a pat on the back there to just keep on doing. Thanks Gary and all at NCIEA for your recognition of musician in the Northern Rivers. I've attached some pics taken by Anna VanReil, who was herself up for 6 awards, she's great, and she's got a great duo with Kathryn Jones called the Swinging Cowgirls http://www.annavanriel.com
