What is NCIEA?

The North Coast Entertainment Industry Association

about-us
has new direction for 2009. The Northern Rivers boasts a wealth of musical talent, skills, expertise and academic knowledge. The industry encompasses a multitude of people involved in a range of genres and activities and we want to utilise this for the benefit of us all. Whether you need technical advice, wish to buy or sell equipment, hire an artist or make your act available for hire, NCEIA can be a useful resource.

Join NCEIA now.

NCEIA already has quite a lengthy and creditable history and has gone through several "eras" of operation, brought about by the recurring changes in the make up of active team members over 17 years of operation. An organisation like this is always only as good as the participating members.

But there is a real and perceived need for a representative voice for professional and semi-professional musicians in an industry context, and a forum for significant industry players to engage in dialogue. The Entertainment Industry Association is something which has proved to endure beyond the cycle of enthusiasm when new people take up the baton. Just like every musical group it must be wary of growing tired or stale or set in it's ways - it needs to be 're-invented' every now and then, and move forward with the times, hopefully building on past experience and growing into the future.

A major independent report on NCEIA was commissioned and completed during 2006.  It's most significant conclusion was the need for a rebranding / reimaging of the Association and a restyling of its advertising, including web-site, to reflect a more proactive, professional and contemporary 'look and feel', projecting a mature style of operation and the dynamic nature of the industry within which we work.

The work of any industry association is primarily to facilitate the exchange of ideas, latest information, opinions, services and skills, contacts, technical tips and ways of doing things - and, in out case, even pre-loved music equipment! The re-branding of the NCEIA website is focussed on bringing this exchange into clear focus so that we can best help each other strenghten and grow our valuable industry which is the 'lifeblood' of it's members.

With a fresh new board recently appointed and now taking over operations of the association, comprising several effective and energetic young local businessmen and musicians, the association's affairs have already begun to change dramatically, with great new premises, some new funding and plenty of new ideas. It's an exciting time at NCEIA right now.

New NCEIA board members include:

President: Gary Pinkerton, Manager/Events Coordinator: Malcolm Fine

Board members - Adrian Davis, Pam Freeman, Jo McKay, Sally McPherson Jon Pinkerton, Gary Pinkerton
